Summer So Far

The summer has been jam packed with projects. Here's the rundown. It all started off with a trip to Philly to work with Meg Saligman. While I was there did a mural of my own that was posted below. Then I began working on a mural for an Italian restaurant and I have about a week left on it. I've been holding private art lessons with 6 different students for the past 6 weeks. I took a weekend trip to SUNY Purchase to meet up with Manuel Bova, Spencer Alexander, and Ephraim Hofftka to work on a collaborative painting for the Hub on campus.

Two weekends ago I spent the day under a tent selling silkscreened t-shirts, working on a painting, and showing my art at Olean's Art in the Park and received best overall (best in show). Three days later I did a painting for an Innovative Teaching Conference. The painting I did is seen below. There will be a time-lapse of the painting up sometime...
Now, as school is approaching, I am outlining and doing sketches for my senior project. It is going to be gigantic.

Take care.

Philly

About two weeks ago I had the privilege to work with the wonderful and talented Meg Saligman in Philadelphia. As I was there helping her on a new mural, she asked me to paint a mural on the outside of her studio in South Philly, so I said, YEAH! I spent 2.5 days working on it and with help from Meg finished and I am proud to say I have a mural in the city of brotherly love!

Take care!

School is Over

Things have been moving at a rapid pace this semester. I just finished my final class of this semester and packing up to go home. I have been printing a bunch of copper plates and drawing an 18 foot version of me. Here it is!
A few fellow printmakers and friends helped me out. Thanks Manuel for helping cut it out and Mikey, Corinne, and Deedra for helping install it!

I'll be posting all my prints and other work on Flickr soon.

Take care.

New Show/Philadelphia

The last month has been crazy. Tomahawks put up a show about two weeks ago titled "At Night My Enemies Come Out Snarling Like Viscous Dogs". The show was conceived and assemble within a mere three days. It was fun and hectic! Many people enjoyed it and I am excited to start thinking of ideas for the next semester installation. Here are a few photos of the show. (the show was viewed with the lights off and a flashlight)

Also, I went on a trip with a bunch of Purchase printmakers to a printmaking conference in Philadelphia. It was a great experience! I was able to visit many colleges in the city, see their printmaking departments, see some sick openings, see some cool demos, and show my art to several people at the conference. I met a man named Dan Welden who I talked to him about funding and printing a series with him. This would be a great body of work to have and an interesting time finding out about Solarplate printing. Check out this interview with him.

Ok, time to get to work and finish this semester with a solid amount of work!

Take care.

Junior Print Show

Hey everyone, I just wanted to let you know that I am going to be in a print show with some amazing artists. It will be going on from March 1st-7th. The opening reception is on Wednesday at 5:30pm. Come on over and see some great art.

SNOW DAY! I usually would be in Experimental Drawing right now but snow has covered campus up to it's ears. I snuck into the drawing room last night to hang my newest piece for class so I wouldn't have to hang it up at the beginning of class. Thank Manuel and Ephraim for helping hang it!

So after I had to take it down, I came here to the print shop. That is what we do here on snow days, work!

Take care.
